Welcome to the story
History says that the estate was a resting place for the boatmen engaged in transportation, travelers and pilgrims with their animals and goods coming across the river Ticino. A break took place in the old houses, during the day in the great camp, where the fairs and markets took place. In the Convivium del Forestiero they found themselves for lunch, dinner and convivial moments.
The overnight stay took place in the Locanda del Viandante on the side of the ancient Canonica, the residence of the religious who took care of the Church of San Cristoforo. The animals rested in the Stallaggio degli Animali after passing by the trough (today a swimming pool). The sacks of wheat, rice and cereals were stored in the Grain Warehouse and in the Open Air Greenhouse.
